Salvador Bolón

 

Born in Valencia (Spain) in 1992. 

​

Salvador Bolón obtained his Bachelor in Musical Performance under Prof. Asier Polo in “Musikene” San Sebastián, Spain. After that, he was accepted into the class of Prof. Ivan Monighetti and Prof. Sol Gabetta with whom he studied Master of Arts in Musical Performance in Basel Music Academy.  He obtained a Postgraduate in Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía de Madrid, with Prof. Ivan Monighetti during the course 2017/2018.

 

Salvador is member of Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, Palau de les Arts (Valencia), and since 2018 collaborates with the London Symphony Orchestra.

 

He received masterclasses from cello and chamber music professors like Frans Helmerson, Gregor Horsch, Rainer Schmidt, Sergio Azzolini, Anton Kernjak, Charles Tunnell, Enrico Dindo, Gary Hoffman, Torleif Thedeén or Ferenc Rados among others.

 

Salvador has obtained many international awards in cello and chamber music such as Jeunesse Musicales chamber music prize in 2015 or Primer Palau 2017. 

 

He has been member of youth orchestras like National Youth Orchestra of Spain (JONDE) and European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) among others. 

 

Activity as a soloist includes concerts and recordings with Spanish National Radio (RNE), with Bankia Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra of Valencia University or National Youth Orchestra of Spain.

 

His chamber music activity includes concerts and festivals like Quincena Musical de San Sebastián, Turina Festival, Festival Musika-Musica, Fundación Juan March, Fundación Botín, Palau de la Música Catalana, Festival Allegro Vivo, Orlando festival etc. with artists like Sol Gabetta, Yura Lee, Fabio Biondi, Monika Leskovar, Nicolas Dautricourt, Kristof Barati, Esther Hoppe, Bengt Forsberg, Ivan Monighetti, Asier Polo, Gary Hoffman, Benedicte Palko, Itsvan Vardai, Ferenc Rados or Anton Kernjak. 

 

He has been cello Prof. in Sinem in Costa Rica and in the Orchestra Academy in SMR in Cuenca, as well as in the National Youth Orchestra of Spain and cello professor of Master at Valencia International University (VIU).

 

Since 2016 he is member of the Elan Quintet. NAXOS artist, they are recording the integral cycle of music from George Onslow string quintets. 

 

Salvador Bolón plays an instrument by Benjamin Banks ca.1790.
